Boeing is close to announcing how long the 787 first delivery is delayed due to a flight test inicident earlier this month, Flightglobal.com affiliate FlightBlogger reports today.

It is now "virtually certain" that the 787 entry into service will be delayed, FlightBlogger editor Jon Ostrower writes, but the length of the delay is unknown pending the investigation of an electronics bay fire.

Although the cause of the fire has been reportedly traced to foreign object debris, FlightBlogger reports the FOD item possibly clogged a cooling duct for the P100 electronics panel.
