The idea of a joint airport serving the Scottish cities of Edinburgh and Glasgow is not viable, according to a new report. The study, carried out by universities in the two cities, says that a new airport would only make economic sense after 2030, when passenger numbers had increased enough to make it viable. It concludes that improving transport links between the existing airports serving the two cities is a better option.
