Aeronautics Defense Systems is in the process of supplying a second batch of Orbiter 2B unmanned air systems (UAS) to the Finnish army.
In 2012, the Finnish defence ministry selected the Israeli company's design to meet its operational needs for asurveillance, target acquisition and reconnaissance capability.The subsequent contract includes 55 systems, comprising a total of 250 of the mini-UAS.
Worth €23 million ($30 million), the contract includes four production batches.
The Orbiter 2B has a 3m (10ft) wingspan, 1m fuselage length and a flight endurance of 4h. The UAS’s maximum take-off weight is 10.3kg (22.7lb), including a sensor payload of up to 1.5kg.
