Boeing is to move its headquarters from its birthplace in Seattle to take up residence in Chicago. The world's largest aerospace group chose Chicago in a three-way contest which included Denver and Dallas. Boeing will move its headquarters to the windy city by September, with 500 executives and support staff making the move. Aircraft production will stay put in Washington state, but the change is widely seen as an attempt to reflect the group's broadening business beyond its Seattle roots.
