Balkan Bulgarian Airlines is to be liquidated after creditors, led by the Bulgarian government, voted to turn down a restructuring plan. For the last few months, Bulgarian transport minister Plamen Petrov has been seeking a new investor, having promised in August that "we would not allow the country to remain without a national carrier".
