Lithuanian charter operator KlasJet has taken delivery of a VIP-configured Boeing 737-500, registration LY-KLJ, under a lease agreement with sister company AviaAM.

The 19-year-old narrowbody was acquired by the company's Avia Solutions subsidiary in November 2016. The aircraft had previously been in airline service, first with US carrier Continental Airlines, and later with Russia's Transaero Airlines, says AviaAM. Transaero ceased operations in 2015.

Maintenance, repair and overhaul specialist FL Technics recently completed a five-month modification programme, which involved replacing the 737's 126 economy-class seats with an all business-class cabin seating 56 passengers. The aircraft will be targeted at bespoke group transportation such as professional sports teams, business travellers and government officials, says AviaAM.
