Russia's NPK Irkut hopes to receive a contract from China before year-end for 10 Beriev Be-200 amphibians, says Vladimir Kovalkov, general director of the company's IAPO plant. Brokered by Russia's Rosoboronexport arms agency and the Chinese defence ministry, the anticipated deal covers the delivery of aircraft for maritime patrol and search and rescue tasks.
