Stronger defence sales and earnings have offset slowing orders for business aircraft and helped Raytheon increase earnings in the second quarter by 23% to $117 million, on revenues up 4% to $4.3 billion. Raytheon Aircraft shipped 117 aircraft, compared with 145 in the same quarter last year, and saw operating income slip 20% to $27 million.
