The Russian Institute of Space Device Engineering (RNIIKP), EADS Astrium and its German subsidiary Tesat Spacecom have established the joint venture Synertech. The new company will market satellite communication payloads, subsystems, equipment and ground stations. By procuring equipment and subsystems it will also become a commercial telecommunications satellite payload prime contractor. Registered in Moscow, 51% at Synertech’s shares belong to RNIIKP, 24% to EADS Astrium and 24.5% to Tesat Spacecom.
