Eurockot is at the show this week to promote its low-cost satellite launch services.
The German company uses the Rockot vehicle, based on the Russian SS-19 ICBM, to launch low-Earth-orbit satellites for commercial operators, space and government agencies and research institutes. The Eurocket stand (Hall 2B, C19) features a model of the launcher.
The company successfully completed a commercial demonstration flight from Plesetsk, northern Russia, in May last year.
Dual-launch
This November is due to see Eurockot dual-launch the Gravity Recovery And Climate Experiment (GRACE) satellites, a joint venture by Nasa and the German Aerospace Centre. Grace is a five-year mission to accurately map variations in the Earth's gravity field.
Jointly owned by Astrium and Khrunichev, Eurockot forms part of the European Aeronautic Defence and Space Company (EADS) launch-provider family.
