Gulfstream has received US type and production certification for the G550 (formerly GV-SP) ultra-long-range business jet, and the first delivery is due next month. European approval of the G550, as well as US certification of the reduced-specificationG500, is expected by year-end. The milestone marks the first US certification for Honeywell's Primus Epic integrated avionics, which forms the basis of Gulfstream's PlaneView cockpit with its large-format, menu-driven displays and cursor controls that allow graphical flight planning.
