Dowty Group has won a £30 million contract to supply supersonic fuel tanks for the Eurofighter Typhoon, it was announced at the show. The deal brings the value of work on the Typhoon won by Dowty to more than £150 million.
The work will be carried out by Dowty Group company Hamble Structures.
The Eurofighter Typhoon's fuel tank has been designed to fly supersonic under both wings and fuselage stations on the aircraft. The pylon is integral and the complete tank can be jettisoned, leaving a clean configuration for the rest of any mission.
