French carrier XL Airways France has extended its suspension period by a few days, amid indications that it is being studied by an investor.

The airline had been forced to halt operations on 30 September and originally stated that the suspension would continue until 3 October.

But it has extended this period to 7 October, as reports indicate that a final commercial Bobigny court decision on the company's future has been postponed until 4 October.

French media state that former Aigle Azur shareholder Lu Azur is offering a €30 million ($33 million) injection to XL Airways.

But its similarity to an offer filed for Aigle Azur – which itself collapsed in September – appears to be generating doubt as to its viability.
