Japan's FS-X flown for first time

THE PROTOTYPE OF THE MITSUBISHI FS-X support fighter had its first flight on 7 October from Nagoya Airport. During the 39min flight, the aircraft reached a height of 15,000ft (4,500m) and a speed of 250kt (460km/h). Minor software problems had previously delayed the first flight.
