Air Europa has selected Sabena Technics to complete C-checks on two of the Spanish carrier's Boeing 787s later this year.

Sabena Technics says the aircraft will be serviced at its Bordeaux facility.

In the past, the French MRO provider has provided airframe maintenance for Air Europa's Airbus A330 fleet.

Air Europa maintenance and engineering director Alberto Lines says that the airline is "delighted" to extend the co-operation to its growing 787 fleet.

Cirium's Fleets Analyzer shows that Air Europa has 12 787s – including a stored aircraft – and orders for a further nine.

The carrier's in-service examples are powered by Rolls-Royce Trent 1000 engines.

In June, an investor a consortium comprising Bpifrance, Power Corporation of Canada’s Paris-based private equity arm Sagard and Anglo-US investment firm TowerBrook acquired a majority shareholding of Sabena Technics from TAT Group.
