In your introduction to the interview with Finnair chief executive Keijo Suila (Northern Niche, October 2003, page 30). You talk of Finnair's 'isolated position on the edge of Europe'. To the best of my knowledge there are more than three flying hours from Helsinki to the edge of Europe (Svalbard) which is about twice the flying time from Helsinki to Frankfurt, Zurich or Amsterdam. I would not call that 'on the edge of Europe'. The very central European position of Helsinki is also illustrated by the fact that a majority of the flights between Europe and the Far East fly straight over Helsinki or in the very vicinity of it.
