UK-based Park Air Electronics, a Northrop Grumman subsidiary, has been selected as prime contractor for the Royal Air Force's air-defence ground-environment re-equipment programme, aimed at providing the RAF with ground-to-air Have Quick II voice-communications. The deal is worth almost £5 million ($7.7 million). The first of 32 sites will be upgraded by early 1997.
