NASA has pushed the launch window for the next Space Shuttle flight back from 12 September to 10 October next year, to give more time to meet the needs of the Columbia accident investigation board. The Shuttle has been grounded since the loss of Columbia during re-entry on 1 February, killing all seven astronauts onboard. Meanwhile, the next flight of the uprated Ariane 5 ECA, which failed on its first flight in December last year, may slip to mid-2004.
