Rex Stocks: "I say, it says here the Virgin Atlantic Global Flyer, the all-composite round-the-world aircraft due to fly in December, is 'a revolutionary and ground-breaking aircraft'."

Your Uncle's wrinkled retainer and "50 years ago" helper, Great Aunt Agatha (who claims to recall everything from memory), admits to causing a bit of confusion in the "Battle of Britain flypast" entry in 23-29 September.

From the edition dated 18.09.1961 it said conditions were reminiscent of events during the battle 13 years ago. OK, so as Nephew Peter Dennis points out, this would have made it 1948 - some time after the war. Of course the correct date should have been 1953 - but then if you didn't spot the mistake Agatha says you obviously weren't paying enough attention!
