Polish charter carrier Enter Air is establishing a new maintenance subsidiary for its fleet, which will be known as Enter Air Services.

The airline argues that having an in-house maintenance division will create additional shareholder value by keeping a large quantity of revenue within the company.

"We have built a technical maintenance team from scratch in roughly nine months," says chief executive Grzegorz Polaniecki.

"We have hired the best aviation mechanics available on the market with experience acquired in recognised foreign technical maintenance service organisations."

Enter Air says maintenance is "one of the most expensive" parts of an airline's business, and it will achieve savings through having in-house services.

It adds that the decision will "minimise risks" from changes in terms of contracts with third-party providers.

The carrier operates a fleet of Boeing 737-800s and has 737 Max jets on order.

While the new subsidiary will initially provide technical servicing at the airline's Polish bases, it will extend its reach to overseas stations as well.
