Adam Aircraft has secured private investment to fund its A500 all-composite, centreline-thrust piston twin through certification and into production and its A700 twinjet through to first flight. The second prototype of the A500 is in flight testing and the third, a fully conforming production prototype, is scheduled to fly within weeks.

Adam has firm orders and options for 100 A500s and plans to produce three aircraft a month by year-end, and five a month by the end of 2004. Income generated from A500 sales will help to fund development of the A700, says the Englewood, Colorado-based company. Adam plans to fly the 11-seat Williams FJ33-powered aircraft early next year.
