Derek Keogh has announced that he plans to retire as chief executive of Aer Rianta at the end of this year. His tenure in the position, which began in 1988, culminated in May in the group's highest pre-tax profit, of £42 million ($68 million). Keogh says that he had publicised his decision as early as he had to give Aer Rianta ample opportunity to appoint a successor.
