French training school Ecole Nationale de l’Aviation Civile (ENAC) has placed an order for 30 training aircraft from La Rochelle-based Elixir Aircraft for delivery between 2026 and 2027.
ENAC is acquiring the aircraft as part of a fleet modernisation programme and will use the two-seater Elixir to replace its fleet of Visual Flight Rules (VFR) aircraft.
ENAC managing director Olivier Chansou says: ”One of ENAC’s missions is to support the transformation of the air transport sector towards more sustainable aviation, and the major fleet renewal operation, with the support of our supervisory authority, is part of this strategy. We are delighted and excited about our partnership with Elixir Aircraft.”
Elixir says its fourth-generation aircraft, featuring a simplified composite aerostructure and an ultra fuel-efficient engine, offers CO2 reductions of 70%. Since securing EASA certification in 2020, there are now 35 Elixir aircraft in service with a backlog of over 300 aircraft commitments.
Elixir Aircraft co-founder and president Arthur Leopold-Leger says: ”This contract is the reward for ten years of work in the design, certification, and industrialisation of our aircraft. We look forward to meeting the first ENAC pilots trained on the Elixir in a few years.”
