African Alloy Tie-Up

South African alloy manufacturer Samancor is to form a joint venture with Japanese chemical firm Showa Denko and trading house Marubeni, to produce and market low-carbon ferrochrome, an alloy used to increase the strength of metals used in aircraft structures. The South Africa-based venture is to be operational by May.
