Melkhov has held roles including instructor on the S7 Airbus fleet

S7 lists him as a pilot and flight trainer, having held posts including senior instructor for the company’s Airbus A320-family fleet as well as deputy flight director for Embraer 170s.

The airline – which uses a mix of Airbus, Boeing and Embraer models – is one of the primary carriers in Russia, transporting 12.9 million passengers last year.

Melkhov succeeds Vadim Klebanov, who has headed S7 Airlines since September 2019.
