Air Astana has extended its component maintenance contract with AJ Walter Avaiation.

With the UK spare-parts specialist having serviced its equipment over the past six years, the Kazakhstan-based airline has now extended the flight hour-based support deal until 2019.

The new contract covers 15 Airbus A320s, five Boeing 757s and three 767s. Air Astana is replacing its ageing 767s with factory-new aircraft of the same type.

“We are especially pleased to have now been chosen to support their brand new 767 aircraft,” says AJW president Christopher Whiteside.

The MRO specialist will also place a spare-parts kit at the airline’s base in Almaty.
