The German Government has approved finance for the new Berlin Brandenburg International Airport development, which will be built and operated by a consortium including Frankfurt Airport, Hochtief, ABB and Bankgesellschaft Berlin. The consortium will pay DM635 million ($348.5 million) to acquire the holding company that owns Berlin's three airports. Brandenburg will be built on the site of Schonefeld airport in the former East Berlin.
