Bombardier Business Jet Solutions has become the launch customer for Bombardier's third party completion business at its Learjet subsidiary in Wichita, Kansas.
Bombardier Aviation Services (BAS) is contracted to complete seven Challenger 604s for its sister company's fractional ownership programme and is eyeing other third-party business. BAS expects to complete the first three 604s by the year's end and the remaining four aircraft by the third quarter of 2000. This contract is a departure for the Wichita plant, which previously held only performs completions on Learjet 45s, since transferring the bulk of the work to Tucson, Arizona.
