The first of five Embraer EMB-145, 50-seat regional jetliners was officially presented to British Regional Airlines (BRA) during a champagne reception at Le Bourget.

In a $75million deal, Embraer's regional jets will be used for services from Manchester and Southampton to destinations in the UK and Europe.

Meanwhile, Embraer is hoping that AMR Eagle will place an order for 67 EMB-145 jets during the show.

Embraer president and CEO Mauricio Novis Botelho won't reveal the date for the formal announcement, saying: "There is a deal going on. I would like to say more but there is no news yet."
