Honeywell announced at EBACE yesterday that field evaluation testing of its Zing remote diagnostics service for its TFE731 engines will be completed next month.
Zing has accumulated more than 1,500 flight hours on Hawker aircraft and performed more than 275 downloads of engine data at US and other international airports.

The remote diagnostics service will be available through dealers and service centres beginning in July this year. The new system downloads engine data, then transmits it wirelessly to an interactive website. E-mail alerts are then sent to maintainers, providing data and analysis of each engine’s current health.

Utilising a GSM cellphone network, the Zing system is available for the Hawker 800, 800XP and 850XP aircraft. Gregg Cohen, Honeywell’s VP, business aviation aftermarket services, says the system gives TFE731 operators a comprehensive and user-friendly approach to managing engine health when combined with engine trend monitoring services provided by Honeywell partner Jet-Care.
