BF Goodrich, Boeing, Lockheed Martin and the US Air Force Research Laboratory have flight demonstrated electrically actuated brakes and a digital brake control and anti-skid system on a Lockheed Martin Block 40F-16 fighter, the first time electric brakes have been flown on standard aircraft. An all-electric braking system would lead to an all-electric aircraft, eliminating the need for hydraulics.
