Emirates is to launch a daily service from Dubai to Chicago O'Hare International on 5 August.

The service will be operated using Boeing 777-200LRs configured with 266 seats: eight in first class, 42 in business and 216 in economy. The aircraft can also carry 17t of cargo.

Chicago will become the Middle Eastern airline's ninth US gateway.

The city's mayor, Rahm Emanuel, says the new flights will "further our goal to host 55 million visitors by 2020".
