Lockheed Martin has dropped a deal with Israel Military Industries (IMI) to market jointly the Light Defender stand-off loitering weapon system.

IMI and Lockheed Martin agreed to market jointly the Light Defender in the USA in 1999. The US company has a number of co-operation deals involving Israeli weapons, including the Raytheon Python short-range air-to-air missile and the Rafael/Lockheed Martin PGSUS stand-off missile joint venture.

Light Defender is understood to be an improved derivative of the IMI Delilah manoeuvring, loitering decoy, equipped with a warhead. The Delilah is 2.7m (106in) long, has a 1.2m span wing, a speed of Mach 0.8 and a 400km (215nm) range. It weighs 180kg (400lb).
