Fairchild Fasteners is to acquire Simmonds, one of Europe's leading manufacturers of aerospace and automotive fasteners, for $21 million in cash and $35.5 million in debt. Fairchild already has a German manufacturing operation and says the move will strengthen its presence in Europe.
