Airbus has launched a global competition for university students to enter ideas for shrinking the aviation industry's carbon footprint.
The Fly Your Ideas competition invites students to develop new concepts for making air travel more environmentally friendly. The winner will receive €30,000 ($38,560), while runners-up will receive €15,000.
The contest will consist of three rounds that will be judged by a panel of Airbus and aviation industry experts. The final will take place at next year's Paris air show.
"Fly Your Ideas is a unique opportunity for students to be part of Airbus's vision for an eco-efficient aviation industry of the future," says Airbus executive vice-president engineering Charles Champion. To enter, students should register a team of three to five entrants by 30 November.
