First Finnish Hornet flies

McDonnell Douglas has flown the first F-18 Hornet destined for the Finnish air force. The two-seat D-model aircraft was flown on 21 April. Finland has ordered 64 F-18s to replace its Mikoyan MiG-21s and Saab-35 Drakens in the interceptor role.
