Take-offs were briefly suspended at London Heathrow this evening following reports of drone activity in the airport’s vicinity.
In a statement issued at 17:47 GMT, the airport said it had suspended take-offs in response to "a drone sighting at Heathrow…as a precautionary measure while we investigate”.
Take-offs from the airport's northern runway 27R were suspended for an estimated 30min, before resuming around 18:15 GMT. During the departure stoppage, landings on the southern runway, 27L, continued.
