Honeywell has combined its business jet cabin services operation, which provides satellite communications and television coverage worldwide, with its new Cabin Management, Systems and Services (CMSS) unit, formed this year after the company acquired Baker Electronics (Flight International, 21-27 January).
The move reflects the growing requirement from business aircraft manufacturers that cabin systems suppliers be able to offer an integrated package of entertainment, information, communication and control products and services. Honeywell formed CMSS after acquiring Sarasota, Florida-based Baker and following rival Rockwell Collins's acquisition of cabin information systems supplier Airshow.
