Assembly of the first Ilyushin Il-96-400T freighter is gathering pace at the VASO plant in Voronezh. The stretched, Aviadvigatel PS-90 development of the Il-96-300 is due to be completed this year. This aircraft is the first of two for Atlant-Soyuz. Volga-Dnepr also has a preliminary contract for two aircraft, but is yet to firm up the order. Meanwhile, China’s Silk Way Airlines is understood to have signed a letter of intent for 10 aircraft.
