INDIA'S LIGHT COMBAT Aircraft (LCA) is expected to be rolled-out at the end of this month, with a maiden flight for the much-delayed aircraft due in 1996.
Two technology-demonstration aircraft, fitted with General Electric GE F404 engines, will be flown first, followed by three single-seat fighters, one two-seat trainer and one naval prototype.
An initial operational clearance for the LCA is intended for 2003-4, with a full operational clearance for the aircraft to be given by 2005-2007.
