India's Gas Turbine Research Establishment (GTRE), part of the country's ministry of defence, has selected French company Snecma Control Systems to develop and produce a prototype range of hydro-mechanical equipment for the new 22,000lb thrust Kaveri engine.
Designed for the Indian-built LCA single-engine combat aircraft, the Kaveri will feature Snecma's fuel pumps; controls for the main and afterburner hydromechanical units; fuel filter; and actuation equipment for the variable geometry.
