RUSSIAN COSMONAUT VALERI KORZUN is pictured inside the node connecting the modules of the Mir 1 space station during the recent STS79 Shuttle Mir Mission 4. The node, attached to the Mir core module, which was launched in 1986, now provides access to the Kvant 2, Kristall, Priroda and Spektr modules and serves as a port for the Soyuz TM24 in which Korzun was launched with cosmonaut Alexander Kaleri on 17 August. They are working on the Mir 1 with NASA astronaut John Blaha.
