Japan has delayed the launch of the first two of its 8.5t military Information Gathering Satellites to February and July 2003. The satellites will be launched by Japanese H2A boosters. The system will comprise two optical and two radar satellites built by Mitsubishi. A second-generation satellite fleet is planned for 2008.
