Lockheed Martin says that its Joint Air-to-Surface Standoff Missile (JASSM) candidate is close to completing flight-testing at Edwards AFB, California. On 10 December, a JASSM Jettison Test Vehicle separated cleanly from a Lockheed Martin F-16 and hit the ground "well within the predicted footprint". The test was one of a series to demonstrate the weapon's design features.
