Kuwait Airways has taken delivery of the first of four Airbus A340-300 airliners on 29 March. The aircraft is the first to be fitted with the 150kN (34,000lb)-thrust CFM56-5C4, the most powerful engine in CFM International's CFM56 range. The Kuwaiti A340s will be operated on routes to New York via London and Frankfurt, and direct flights to Bombay, Bangkok and Manila.
