Lockheed Martin has been selected as preferred designer and integrator for Taiwan's Po Sheng tactical datalink systems.
The project, which is led by the US Navy's Space and Naval Warfare Systems Command, will develop a co-operative engagement capability for Taiwan's defence forces over 10 years (Flight International,19-25 August).
The award is worth $2.15 million if all contract options are exercised. The initial contract is valued at $27.6 million, supporting studies of Taiwan's Link 11 and Link 16 systems and design of a basic co-ordination architecture. This phase ends in June.
The Lockheed Martin team includes BAE Systems North America. It defeated a rival Northrop Grumman bid.
