Wet-lease specialist Air Atlanta Icelandic has taken two more Rolls-Royce RB211-powered Boeing 747-200s from Cathay Pacific on two-year leases, with an option to extend. Meanwhile, Air Atlanta has placed one 747-300 each with Saudi Arabian and Garuda on wet-lease. Royal Jordanian has leased a General Electric CF6-powered, ex-Emirates A310-300 from GATX. Korean Air has concluded a sale and leaseback deal with San Francisco-based Pegasus Aviation for two Boeing MD-11 freighters. Pegasus has also placed two Boeing 727-200 freighters on lease with Kitty Hawk Aircargo on seven-year leases. The first aircraft, which is already hushkitted, will enter service in December, while the second will follow next month following cargo conversion and hushkitting by Avborne of Miami, Florida. Qatar-based Gulf Falcon group has acquired two China Airlines 747SPs for operation by its Sharjah-based Air Gulf Falcon wet-lease airline (Flight International, 24-30 November). Aer Lingus has taken delivery of its first Next Generation Boeing 737, a new 737-800 on five year lease from GE Capital Aviation Services. Swedish regional carrier MaxAir is leasing a Saab 340B from Saab Aircraft Leasing for operation on its services between Malmo and Oslo replacing a Fairchild Metro II. PS Group has sold a 15-year-old Boeing MD-82 to Finova Capital, in a deal arranged by IAMG. The aircraft is on lease to US Airways. Leasing company AeroCentury has purchased two Fokker 50s which are on lease to Spanish regional Air Nostrum. The Qatar Amiri Flight has taken delivery of an International Aero Engines V2527-A5-powered Airbus A320. London Manston-based AirRep (UK) has added a 5.6t payload Antonov An-26 freighter to its UK-based fleet of wet-lease aircraft. Aero Continente of Peru has taken a Boeing 757 on short term wet-lease from Air 2000 for its Lima-Miami route.
