McDonnell Douglas (MDC), of St Louis, Missouri, has appointed Walter Orlowski president of its Long Beach, California-based Douglas Aircraft commercial-aircraft division . Orlowski, who was formerly vice-president and general manager of Douglas, succeeds Mike Sears, who is to head MDC's tactical-aircraft, missiles and space businesses.
