Copenhagen Airport has been declared the preferred bidder for a potential deal involving the sale of a 49% equity interest in Newcastle Airport and a technical services agreement. The Veritas Capital Fund is to acquire Stellex Aerostructures of California. Stellex is a leading provider of complex aerostructure components and subsystems to leading aerospace and defence prime contractors. Smiths Group is to extend its customer services operations in Australia with the acquisition of Chapman Avionics. Chapman provides maintenance and repair services to military and airline operators. Qualitair is to make a strategic investment in UK-based European Aviation Support. UK-based parts distributor C J Fox is to merge with the Danish aerospace group Satair, to form Satair Hardware Group, a fastening systems supplier.
