Nine airlines have complained to the European Commission over a ruling forcing them to move all flights from Milan Linate to Milan Malpensa in early November. Air France, Austrian Airlines, British Airways, Iberia, Lufthansa, Olympic Airways, Sabena, SAS and TAP Air Portugal say the new airport is not ready to handle additional traffic and they should be allowed to keep flights at Linate until 2001. The decision lies in the hands of incoming EC transport commissioner Loyola de Palacio.
